Schwan's USA CUP had three staff members travel to the National Soccer Coaches Convention last weekend in St. Louis. This is always a great convention for USA CUP as it allows us time to talk with coaches that have attended the tournament in the past as well as make contacts with new soccer coaches.
Upon our arrival tournament director Teri Vogt gave a presentation to Puma representatives from all of the US markets and this was followed by a hospitality event arranged by Vicki Barnes at a local bowling alley. It was an opportunity to talk one on one to the reps as well as seeing their awesome bowling skills.
This was followed by a happy hour with friends, the Nomads from California. The Nomads have brought numerous teams to USA CUP over the years.
At NSCAA the opportunity to meet with sponsors and review/renew contracts is always on the schedule. Here Teri is discussing future options with Doug from Soccer America. Check out the Schwan's USA CUP ad on pages 10 and 11 in the January issue.
Two of the tournament's top volunteers were also at NSCAA. Aaron was in attendance to take classes and his wife Kelli offered to assist in the booth.
I was able to catch up with Bert Lobo, the USA CUP rep in Ontario & Quebec. USA CUP currently has sixteen teams from Canada registered for the Weekend and thirteen teams registered from Canada for the Week. Way to go Bert!
On the way to St. Louis, Vicki had arranged several meetings with teams and all of those teams have signed up to be with us in July 2009. Way to net it out Vicki!
